What SAT scores are needed to get accepted?

Some data from 2007:
75% of accepted students had verbal score of at least 520.
50% of accepted students had between 540 and 630.

You might be able to find some more recent data if you search online for common data set.

Marist is actually test optional! So if you want to submit your scores you can but if you’re like me and feel like your scores don’t accurately describe you then you don’t have to. Marist looks more at the overall student such as classes, community service, and activities. Luckily, theres no specific score you need!

Don’t worry too much about your SATs. I submitted my scores and they were lower than the average Marist accepted student. What is really important is the over all student. Marist wants to know you work hard and take part in the school and your community you are perfect for Marist!

I am also a student at Marist, and I was actually lucky enough to speak to my admissions counselor about this topic when I was applying. They realize that test scores don’t define you which is why it’s test optional!!! I was an A student and I did NOT get a good score on the SAT’s and thats another reason why they test optional. So this goes for any school that is test optional, not just Marist but when they mean test optional they really mean it. Don’t think that your application will be any less because of it!
