I’ve been thinking about this for hours, trying to find a tactful way to say what I want to say.
I give up. In the absence of tact, I’ll choose to direct it to you here instead of on the actual thread.
The advice you gave was, absolutely without question, the WORST advice I’ve ever seen on these forums… and posters who have been here a while will acknowledge that that’s saying a lot.
Fortunately, it was directed at an adult who knew enough to disregard it, and not another kid like yourself.
So I did a little research. It turns out that you’re a high school senior, with a very high opinion of yourself. You’ve blithely given bad advice before, spreading little nuggets of ideas hither and yon with absolutely no idea of what you’re talking about.
A suggestion: realize that you’re a kid, just like all the other kids on this forum. You’re no better or worse than the vast majority of them. Your advice is simply another opinion, of no greater value than that of the kid who poses a question.
You have no idea of what college is about, and apparently very little idea of what high school is about.
This is a wonderful forum for learning. So try not to give advice when you have no idea of what you’re talking about.
Had your comments been directed to some confused teenager, you could have done a world of harm.

I am really starting to dislike CC threads where folks are invited to weigh in and then when you do, you are blasted. I think it’s retime to take a long break. 
Not going to class and wondering why you are failing and what you can do to stay? GO TO CLASS! DON’T FAIL!
I’m starting to hate driving and want to live somewhere that every trip doesn’t require a car. I am also sick of vans with poor visibility so I can’t see behind me well, combined with other drivers becoming impatient when I’m trying to back up into a tight spot. I tapped the car I was driving against our own car this morning when I was distracted by another driver who seemed frustrated with having to wait for me to back in. Thankfully less than an inch mark on the plastic of one car. But I had a similar incident a few months ago. I lack cool nerves and really don’t have the best visual perception and hand-eye coordination when driving backwards. In other words, I suck.
I also hate the migraines and cluster headaches that last for three days and come every month, once if I’m lucky, twice if I’m not.
Man, I admire people who are willing to just put it out there. I absolutely agree with what you wrote, but I could never do it publicly. But you go, girl. He needs to hear that, though he will likely counter that his rights are being infringed by not getting to shove his viewpoints down others’ throats. I’ll be watching from my lurker position.

OK, I thought the damage done when I tripped and did a faceplant on my walk yesterday was just going to be cuts on my face, a scraped knee and a (likely) broken finger. Now it looks like I will have 2 black eyes…
