College Board is a NONPROFIT. The CEO David Coleman makes $1.3 MILLION. And a $840.7 million revenue for the company in 2014. Seriously? “Nonprofit my [[textbook]]”! #-o
There is a school for everyone. Don’t let the craziness on this forum make you lose sight of that .
YAY. Got up nice and early, and spent an hour and a half juggling our Fastpass selection for our July Disney World trip.
I’ll still have to tweak. My son is probably not going to be able to join us for the whole trip; he has an EMT class scheduled. But since we don’t yet have definite class dates I included him. We’ll see whether he joins us for a few of the days or misses the whole trip. I’t can be very hard to add a popular fastpass; dropping one person is easy.
And I’ll have to check out my younger daughter and the roller coasters. But if I change them, it will be for rides that are easier to get.
I’m happy. I got us the new Slinky Ride, the new Avatar, and lots of old favorites: Toy Story, Splash, Space and Big Thunder Mountains, 7 Dwarves, Soarin’, Test Track.
I am sad and angry that the thred on TX devolved so rapidly (I mean I knew it would eventually, it always does on this topic). This was my back yard, 11 miles away, effecting people I know. I wish that I had the opportunity to work through my community’s shock and grief, without it turning into a political boxing match so dang quickly.
My daughter had her first real day on the job after 4 days of orientation (which started the Monday after graduation). She likes it! Yay!
Glad I bought the International phone package for my daughter trip to Israel. Haven’t gotten one text or call yet. I know she is ok by all her Instagram posts. A text or call would be nice!!
I’m so happy you canceled that business trip. I really didn’t want to go but I didn’t feel I could back out. I’ll be happy to go on the new date.
What is wrong with people??
I just got back from the supermarket. After yesterday’s torrential rains, it was reasonably crowded for so early on a Sunday. There were only 3 full serve registers open, along with the self serve.
So there were at least 2-3 people on each of the lines.
A woman in maybe her late 60’s fell, hard, and hit the ground. I turned when I heard the 2 or 3 cans of stuff she must have been carrying hit the ground.
And no one else reacted. I ran over to see how I could help. I yelled “We need help over here” on my way over. I got her to sit up, and I had her just sit there for a minute or two to absorb the hurt.
And still, no one else did any thing.
At one point, a man walked by and asked whether she was OK. I asked him to please get us help, so he got a store employee. And another man brought over a chair (from a picnic display in the next aisle.) And he and I got her up onto the chair.
Finally an employee came over, and got her ice for her knee. She called her husband to come get her, and I went back to my place on line.
There have to have been 15 people closer than I was, doing nothing but stand in line. Is is possible that I was the only one who heard the crash and turned?
How very sad.
Somebody really needs to crush your egotistical, gaslighting personality of yours. The only reason I am being nice to you at all is my mom wanting us to have good sibling relationships. Well, once I become independent, I have no reason talk to you.
Reading comprehension is a good thing.
I’ve hung in here on CC for a long time, but there is a thread right now that is maybe going to drive me off. Can’t people enjoy a beautiful, celebratory event without nitpicking the heck out of the whole thing? My bad for even reading…Some things were better before the internet.
Stupid hail. Stupid hail. Stupid hail.
In all of our trips to Grand Cayman, I can’t remember a bad weather day (except maybe an hour or so of rain occasionally). Looks like this time we get 7 of them. I know, first world problem
Aren’t you sorry you asked?
Like a dog who won’t let go of a bone…
It’s just stuff! You can’t take it with you.
“When people show you who they are, believe them” is what Ms. Angelou said. She didn’t add on, “Ignore this if they marry into the family.” So no thanks, I’ll just continue to keep my distance.
She was absolutely gorgeous. She is a strong, smart, accomplished, compassionate individual who couldn’t care less what I think.
More power to her.
She was gorgeous. The dress was gorgeous. The hair and makeup were gorgeous. The mom was gorgeous. The other dress was gorgeous.
Even if I didn’t think so, there’s no way I’d comment to the contrary because this was a joyful occasion and, celebrity notwithstanding, why on earth would I pick apart someone’s appearance? On any day, but especially on this day? Sheesh.
If she were my friend’s child or sister or daughter or friend, would I critique her just because I can do so anonymously on a website? If she were the daughter of a CC poster, would I criticize her?
Yes, I have opinions. No, I don’t always need to express them.
Next time, try watching the traffic and the lights instead of your phone, and NOT t-boning the car that had the right of way. You were lucky no one was seriously injured, but really, was that message worth 2 totaled cars? I hope your insurance rates skyrocket. But for now I just hope your insurance was current.
I see your kids driving through the neighborhood like they can’t be bothered with the speed limit. Yes, they look quite fashionable in their $60k cars and designer clothes. No, that doesn’t exempt them from the law and having basic common sense. I really just wish you would move because it’s so very obvious you and your family don’t give a flip about anyone or anything other than money.
