I gotta ask. I just saw someone with only 2 posts that has a green square. How can that be? The posts weren’t even advice or anything that I would have rated helpful. They were simply statements.
Everyone starts with the default of one green box, 10pts, and on a distinguished road.

Posts #317 & #324 give a bit of an explanation of the point and levels that are believed to be being used.
lol. Well, QM. Somebody beat me to my first response- the “immediate quit”. So, that would have been so yesterday. I decided that since I access CC almost exclusively from my Tapatalk i-phone (where the boxes don’t appear) I’d ignore it as much as I can. And since I post 99/1 on the Pre-Med forums, nobody would see my one man protest march. What fun is that?
But please, please. For the love of God, nobody “like” my posts. I will not like yours. This is just so fb. Ble-e-e-c-c-c-ch. What a load of crap.
Where is this? Does it even exist? The option to opt out?

Come’on people. Help an old fella out . This is beginning to snowball on me.and I ain’t getting any happier about it.
celebrates still having only one square
Sorry, curmudgeon, maybe my comment about your being a CC Legend drew in the “likes.” Or more likely, people just remembered your posts.
In any event, I get rated often enough in various facets of my work, and don’t really want to be rated on a site where I come for fun, and occasionally to share what I have learned.
Oh, no QM. I wish it was that.
I made a post on the pre-med board asking for folks not to like my posts. I have a little cheese-weasel “fan” on cc who hates my guts and is obviously mounting a back-channel “like” campaign just to **** me off.
I am not universally liked. Who knew? lol (I knew, that’s who. And I don’t care a whit. )
I’ve had a few folks on the board take an un-natural dislike to me in the thirty years I’ve been posting here. Some of them were pretty dang scary. This one? Not so much. lol
I’ve had one stalker. I figured out my connection to her in real life! That was bizarre. I haven’t seen in her years, fortunately, and don’t expect to again. Periodically, though, she’ll find one of my posts and reply negatively.
In the immortal words of Donald Duck, “Aw, Phooey!”
I see that I have moved to 2 squares.
I have to admit that I intended to look up some of your old posts, curmudgeon, and vote for them, until you posted on this thread earlier.
Maybe a “Don’t show reputation” option will be offered soon?
QM. I hear though the grapevine that an opt out is being discussed.
And, yeah. I have always told my kid that if everybody likes you, you are doing something terribly wrong. But you should try for something over 50/50.
MaineLonghorn, I PROMISE I’m not that one!!
LOL, dowzer!
Just wanted to be on the record!
So my latest “rep” received has a grey box next to it rather than a green one. That’s new. Any significance?
I want to de-rep some posters. Let me know when that’s in production.
Curmudgeon-I’m afraid your pleas to be left alone are the best guarantee you will receive lots of reps. You know what they say…
Yup. My likes have been evenly divided into two categories: misanthropes and the merely mis-guided.
Admin should be pleased to know that if we have not given the system the proper respect, at least we have been entertained by it.
So I got another grey square… which comes with no points… I’ll ask again, thoughts?
I believe I read somewhere, romanigypsyeyes, that the grey square indicates approval from someone who doesn’t have enough CC cred (too new to the site, maybe?) to affect your rating. So they approve a post but their vote doesn’t count (much? or at all? I’m not sure which).
Curmudgeon is a glorious beacon of light.
This is like a bad SAT true or false question.
