Hi, I'm a high school junior right now and I'm interested in this combined program but I can't really find much information on it online maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but if someone has a link or contact number for information could you please provide it.

Also, if anyone has applied or is in the program what are the typical requirements to get in and is there a minimum GPA and MCAT requirement once you get in?

Thanks

Hey, I live in the area of SBU. I've found the site before, but I'm too lazy to check right now. It's hard to find.

Just call SBU and ask for Dr. Domboski or Dr. "D." He's the director of the program.

hey metsfan09, the SBU/GWU program is a great opportunity to become a medical doctor in eight years (its not accelerated, but you can finish undergrad in 3 years if you want to.) I applied to this program and was accepted a couple of days ago.
The requirements to apply are top 10% of class, 1300 SAT, 29 ACT, etc. These are just minimums, you will have to break these to be accepted, of course.
The first 4 years of the program are in SBU, near Olean, NY. The final four years are at the George Washington University School of Medicine. MCATS are NOT required. A minimum GPA has to be maintained (forgot what the exact GPA is.)
IM me at darealfoo17 for more info, and good luck if you apply next year!

i think 3.3 is the minimum gpa

I just have one more question I actually found the site this morning. It says that a requirement is "successful completion of the SAT II in bio" Is that really required? Because the problem is I haven't taken biology since 8th grade and I'm taking AP Chem next year so do you have to take that and if so do you really need a good grade? I highly doubt I can get a 650+ studying by myself

you have to take it, but you don't have to do really well on it...in fact, bio sat II was my worst of all my sat IIs...as long as you break 600, its fine i think...i had a 680 or 690...

how would a student with a 3.3 UW gpa, 2300 SAT score, 800 chem/math 2 score with 4 aps(only in junior year-taking ap chem/psych/macro/micro----i assume im going to land 5’s on all of them) and an even more challenging work load next year(ap calc bc/physics c/comp sci/spanish/human geo/ living enviroment and then regular english xD. haven’t decided on an elective yet).

this is just my academic performance. my gpa really kills it. do u think i have at least a chance for this program? really want in:P
