SBUADMISSIONS, quick question about EA?

Hi, I had accidentally checked off EA when I sent in the first part of the app on Stony Brook's website. But I gave in the supplemental way past the deadline, on December 1st. When I called them and asked if they could change it to regular decision they said not to worry and that I would just be considered as a regular applicant.

Today I got a letter in the mail saying I didn't get in early and that I'll be considered in the regular pool. But how is that possible if I handed in my supplemental past the deadline and mailed out the transcript/activity resume around the 2nd week of December?
Do you think that it was a mistake?

I will call tomorrow but I was just wondering if you would tell me if this will affect how they look at my application in any way?
If not I'll just ask tomorrow, thank you!

Yes, I think you should definately call them and find out what's going on. Chances are you will get this mean grumpy lady on the phone who gives you the worst attitude though.

Makes me not want to go to SBU if I am accepted.

Not a mistake at all; like you were told originally, you're just being considered regular decision. That's what that letter says.

Chris

Thank you very much for your prompt replies!! I just read your (the 2nd Chris's..lol) post on another thread [Dates for Responses from Admissions] and that also helped clear up the matter for me. Since all the pieces of my application didn't reach there in time, I must have automatically been deferred to the regular decision, which is what I wanted. :]
