Hello! I want to ask anyone what they think of SCAD, SVA or Pratt (please compare).
Honestly, my top choice was once SVA for the animation department, but a couple of top notch animators there stated they did not like the school, and they would never return. They basically recommended towards going to SCAD, but there are also bad reviews of that school too.

Pratt ain't so different either, and I'm just confused, running back and forth on what to choose. If I applied to Pratt, I would just apply for the illustration major.
I got a fee waiver from SVA, but now that my love for SVA has died down, I want to go to SCAD now.

I heard SCAD is what you make it, but I'm truly scared that I may regret it.
But to be honest, I really don't want to go to SVA once I compared SCAD to it. (Plus they have more activites and more aspects compared to SVA for the same price?? So yeah).

If anyone can compare those three, I would be sooo happy.
You could tell me the Pros and Cons of all the schools, and then tell me which one you would choose out of all the three.

If not, tell me which school I should apply for other than those three. (RISD, MICA...)
Thank you so much!

I didn’t go to SCAD but I lived in Savannah for quite a few years. My ex-gf and most of the people I hung out with went to SCAD, and it seems accurate to say “it is what you make of it.” But I think you’ll find that’s the case no matter where you attend. All the people I knew, for the most part, seemed to enjoy SCAD and were happy to have gone there. They all got pretty good jobs(even the ones that partied more than they did school work). Savannah is a very beautiful and historic city and the beach out on Tybee Island isn’t to shabby. Also SCAD doesn’t have a campus, if that matters to you. They have almost single-handedly brought downtown/historic Savannah back to life, refurbishing buildings around the city and incorporating them into the school.

I would recommend visiting if you can swing it financially/time-wise.

Not sure I really answered anything you asked but hopefully it will help a little bit. Good luck in your search.

You answered my question! Thank you! I’m just scared of being disappointed. I hear so many mixed reviews of every college back and forth I don’t know what to think for myself.

I’m guessing college is what you really make of it, how you put yourself out there, and how hard you work. I know nobody is going to spoon feed me my responsibilities, and etc. I’m just really scared of getting nothing out of it but horrible results.

I think I actually might stay at SVA. I’m just really nervous. Thank you so much!
Hopefully someone can come by and answer my question. Thank you.
