SCEA '14 - Statistics for international students

^ Yale takes approximately 30 Canadians every year. :)

Holy schnikes about NY! I know one of the ppl accepted from NY. I did a summer program with her this past summer. I’m scared now :(

Hey, are you sure that this statistics is correct? 'Cause it seems that Yale has accepted 2 from Vietnam in EA round

@rocker
where did u get that info about yale accepting 30 canadians/year?

@miss princeton
can u name me the one person who got in scea?

@altec

I am fully aware of the incident, as I am South Korean myself. But as I recall, the law suit was filed in 2007, and is still in the process. So why now?

I refuse to believe that an institution like Yale would just stop accepting undergraduate students from a country because a single institution there sued them for a credential fraud of a single student’s doctorate degree. (although it was some serious case indeed)

I still think the statistics are wrong somehow… or so i hope…

^ And I also read from a Korean news article that a girl in Korea got accepted to Yale SCEA… but these statistics are from a very reliable source… confusing

Maybe the OP accidentally forgot to include South Korea in that list…

An YDN article about RD decisions from either 2005, 2006, or 2007.

Guys, I’m sorry but I double checked that just now. According to this page, there’s nobody from Korea.

I’m feeling some regrets right now. I thought I was doing a good deed. I didn’t mean to cause so much stress :frowning: When I posted the list I copy-pasted the list of the countries and then included the numbers in brackets. A mistake is possible in the numbers, not in the countries themselves.

After all, every admit (either domestic or international) can confirm that South Korea isn’t mentioned. That’s all I can do. I guess posting this up wasn’t such a good idea after all.

I just read 2 separate, published news articles each talking about a korean being accepted to Yale SCEA 2014.

It really does not make any sense that not one person from Korea got accepted. I’m assuming that maybe Yale just didn’t want to reveal the numbers from Korea for some reason.

^ Were the people just Korean or actual international applicants from Korea? I’m not doubting you, I’m just curious.

^I think Impetuous was referring to actual international applicants from Korea.
