Can someone apply SCEA Stanford and EA Uchicago?

if you apply scea stanford, you are not allowed to apply ea or ed to any other school, except for special cases like rolling admissions, but there is more information on that on the stanford site.

No, you can't. That's why it is called SC.

Hmm.. But i can apply to the early response at u michigan ann arbor right? I need to ease some tensions before march..

so ea chicago a confirm no no?

But why can many apply ed to a uni and then ea to chicago? I know many ppl did this.. But not for scea stanford?

Because Stanford says so. Their game, their rules.

Single Choice. Only Stanford early. That's their only way of knowing that all of their SCEA applicants are dedicated to them and only them.

ED is binding. If they accept you, it does not matter where else you applied EA, you have to withdraw.

Stanford is very clear about it. You can't apply under early plan to any other private school if you are applying SCEA. You can still apply to rolling schools and have an early acceptance that way.

Cant someone accepted SCEA attend Stanford and withdraw ea elsewhere like the ed in other unis..

What?

For the early round, if you choose Stanford, you can't apply anywhere early (EA or ED).

For Chicago, you can apply EA to them and apply ED elsewhere as long as it's okay with the ED school. You can also apply to Chicago EA and other schools EA, as long as those schools are okay with it too.

Schools take these sorts of contracts very, very, very seriously, and anybody you know who applied Stanford + other school or Yale + other school put their applications in pretty serious jeopardy.

That's why Stanford has SCEA. Single Choice Early Action. As said before, if you apply early to Stanford, you can't apply anywhere else early. If you get in, though, you're not bound to attend Stanford; you can apply to other schools in the regular round.

Early Action (without the SC) allows you to apply to other schools EA. You can't mix anything with SCEA.

Thanks everyone for the advice.. Maybe early at Stanford with Michigan(early response).. This is fine right?

out of curiosity, no one has done scea stanford w ea elsewhere?..

jhl, can it be done? Yes (but not with the Common App on-line; it won't let you.) Has anyone ever done it? Probably. Is it right? No. People lie, cheat and scheme all the time. Sometimes they get caught. Sometimes they don't.

If you don't care about your integrity, and you are willing to risk having a Stanford acceptance revoked, go ahead. Otherwise, play by the rules, make your decisions and apply as you wish.

"Thanks everyone for the advice.. Maybe early at Stanford with Michigan(early response).. This is fine right? "

Yes, this is acceptable due to Michigan's rolling admissions.

Thanks padfoot for your confirmation..

I just need a final confirmation.. Can i apply early response now to Umich and SCEA TO stanford in november? Thanks!

Why don't you call the admissions offices and ask? I'm personally not sure, but I think the answer is no.

If UMich has rolling admission you CAN apply to both UMich and Stanford (SCEA).

A hint: The FAQs are very helpful.

I'm not in the us.. And it's darn expensive to call.. I've called to collegeboard so many times already
