Really just check the website. If I remember correctly I think you can but double check to be safe.

I read somewhere recently that admissions at Michagan is no longer rolling, so check their website carefully. If this is the case, then you have to apply regular to Michigan if you apply SCEA at Stanford.

jhl, just read the FAQ it's clear.

I've read both the mich and stanford sites 10 times! The thing is they now name the mich application early response which is why i'm not sure!

You need to contact Michigan and find out what their definition of "early response" means. Ask if it is the same thing as Early Action. And find out if the notification date is the same as Stanford's [ which is mid Dec], or if it is in later, like in Jan. If it is at the same time or earlier than Stanford, then you can't apply to both Michigan and Stanford early.
Students applying to Stanford's Restrictive/Single-Choice Early Action program may apply to:

* Any institution, public or private, under a non-binding Rolling Admission option;
* Public institutions under a non-binding Early Action program;
Michigan's "early response" program is non-binding, so you can apply to both universities early.

Thanks, nngmm, I would have guessed otherwise had you not noticed that detail.

Michigan releases the admission/rejection decisions from october till dec, once every 2 weeks.. Their decision release date will be earlier than the one of scea stanford.. So is it still considered rolling and can be combined with scea stanford?

Michigan is a public school, so their early plan (which is non-binding) can be combined with Stanford. It does not matter if it is "rolling" or not.

Sorry, forgot about the public college exception. So yes, SCEA and Michigan early are OK.

thanks a lot.. Suddenly it's so clear that i can do both mich and stanford early..

i can't believe i nvr saw this thread before. yeah i'm doing the same thing, good luck w/ both.

Good luck to everyone..
