FYI: I am applying SCEA, writing the optional essay, & I will attend the local Tulane events in my city since I know the point of showing Tulane you are interested in them. My recommendations are really strong too. Also, I noticed on my school's naviance showed that last year a kid with a 3.2 GPA and 26 ACT was accepted and 2 different kids with about a 3.5 GPA and 27 ACT was accepted. (but some kids with high GPAs & ACTs in the 30s were rejected)

The acceptance of the lower stat students and the rejection of the higher stat students was most likely because of interest shown (or lack thereof), as you imply. Given the high number of AP’s you have taken/are taking, your URM status, and the interest you are showing (including applying SCEA), I think you have a decent chance. These things are tough to predict of course, but I think you should feel generally positive about your situation vis-a-vis Tulane.

Thanks fallenchemist. Any more chancers?

Your welcome. What state are you from? That can actually make a very small difference as well.

I’m from Missouri

Me too, originally. That won’t help too much, there are always a fair number from Missouri that end up at Tulane every year. Laude (Horton Watkins) and Parkway schools are especially represented. But not to worry, that is a far more minor factor than your positives.

Ohh Ladue. They are always in the mix.

i had a 3.6 gpa and 2060 sat score and got in, and got a scholarship! if you have a well written essay and show interest, you should be fine.
