SCEA Countdown Thread

yea i submitted it 1:03 est, nov2
i was having trouble uploading my essay so i had to get someone else to do it, otherwise i would have made the time limit, but i guess it doesnt matter now

Yeah, It's a really nice feeling to be done. I'm still really surprised i got in though, I thought I'd end up at UCB or UCLA (hence the user name). Not that either of them are bad, but Stanford has been my dream school since elementary school, probably mostly from its location/status/campus. Good luck everyone, not that you guys will really need it though, you all have pretty ridiculous stats.

looks like the anxiety is already getting to me- i wrote anxiousness in the original post :o
Has anyone started on the other apps?
I just started Berkeley's. Rolls eyes.

do you think the adcom will read the app in the order recieved? if so, then that means my app might get read last, which could be a disadvantage :(

I finished the UC essays last week. Lol. Is it bad if the very last page before the "You submitted!" page had the date Nov.2 on it, even if you're PST? :( I'm worried.

Sleeping now. It's been a long day. Good luck to anyone who's burning the midnight fuel for the last half-hour. (I pray the server supports you all!)

So, this is really neurotic but here is a customized counter to Dec 15th Noon:
http://www.timeanddate.com/counters/customcounter.html?month=12&day=15&year=2006&hour=12&min=0&sec=0&p0=224

In order to rid all of the qualms of my fellow procrastinating SCEArs, let me just make it official by saying that I truly have called Stanford fours times over the last two days to ask about 12:00 PST and not 12:00 EST. Now I will sit here and wait for my SAT scores to come in two hours. That is what will truly decide if I get accepted!

Thanks Studying Stud...

Here's an old thread from 2004 that talks about the issue too. Seems Stanford specifically posted a note that year saying it was PST. Do with it as you wish...

We're past the deadline everybody!!!

thanks study stud
You should pray to god before you see your sat

man study stud, that relieved me a lot.
i dont know why it keeps saying est on their site, probably gives a huge advantage to the pst people. i have no idea about the note though... anywhere to find it?

i submitted mine 17 seconds after 3:00 EST (12:00 PST). oh well, cant do anything else but pray now.

haha wow, thats really cutting it close. i hope stanford isnt too anal about the date though, i hear they ask you to send stuff if it isnt in, so maybe theyre more lax than other schools.

I am really hoping most of us here will get in :D

now the long wait...

42 days, i guess. I heard somewhere that they release on 3pm PST?

OH wow, it's only 42 days? And yeah, I remember that 3 pm PST thing too. Perfect for when I get out of school. :]

And edwinksl, correction: I'm really hoping all of us here will get in. :D

Chillaxin -- Totally agree about ALL of us getting in. Most is not enough! :)

I get out at 3:09 PM. Oh my gosh, I will be DYING!!! Actually, I cannot WAIT until then...the anguish...the anxiety!

sigh 42 days... tear

LoL... I don't remember being that much in anticipation for my acceptance decision, but...

I applied for a full tuition, room and board (4 years!) scholarship at my school, and my school counselor said that the winner would, on a certain day, be pulled out of class and would find his/her parents waiting with the counselor to congratulate them.

The night before/morning of that day, I barely slept. Ugh. And my dad wakes up around 4:30am to go to work, so when I heard him get up and shower, I was crushed.

I was so nervous I was feeling ill... but then it turned out fine =]

So I hope you all will relax more than I did, and that you won't worry yourselves sick... it doesn't feel good at all. I wish you all the best!
