So, I recently attended preview day at Tulane and loved it :) but while I was there, an admissions officer recommended submitting the application ASAP. Is there any advantage to submitting the app (SCEA) before the november deadline? I've already filled out/submitted part 1 of the Tulane app, but I'm awaiting class election results, which I won't know until the end of this week at earliest, so I can't complete part 2 yet. I'm fairly certain I won senior/student body president, which is certainly something I don't want to leave off the application

The biggest advantage to applying now is that you would find out if you got in that much sooner. However, waiting to the end of this week to see if you won the election is certainly fine. Good luck!

Ok, thanks. Would submitting the app a week later make it less likely that I would receive merit scholarships?

At this point in time, probably not. I don’t think they’ve notified anyone of acceptance yet. From what I’ve read about the past years, acceptances usually start going out around the middle of October. So you should be fine waiting until the end of this week, as long as you get everything in as soon as you can!

That is correct. Your merit scholarship chances will be wholly unaffected by waiting to apply any time before the Nov. 15 deadline. The pool is not that shallow. Like I said, the real difference is that if you apply by, say, Oct. 15 you will probably hear back by early to mid November. If you wait until the end of October through the deadline, you might not hear back until December 15 or so, just because of the volume of apps. But your merit scholarship chances would remain the same.

Ok, thanks guys for the quick responses
