I agree my grades could be increased, but would my SAT score overshadow them and make me a viable/reasonable candidate for Stanford? Thnx for resposes.

...that 7th line will help you...I think you're 50% in
Would need more details on EC's...

I love how people on CC have amazing double standards.

Asian with 4.0 weighted? Too bad, "no chance!", "Go to community college!".
African American with 4.0 weighted = 50% in! "Go for it!"

I don't want to start an AA argument, FYI.

To the OP: you have great stats. And contrary to pdef, I don't think it's your race that will get you in.

Do your self a favor and please apply!

bump.......

You've definitely got a shot. Your stats are better than mine and I got waitlisted, so... Just spend some time on your essays and you should have as good a shot as anyone does at a place that accepts < 20% a year. :)

Apply early! You've the best chances of any 2012ers i've seen so far. (remember, though, Stanford rejects 90 of its every 100 applicants).

89.8 :d

Please apply man.

don't apply
i want your spot
haha jkjk

Apply, and nail the essays. I've seen way too many people with your kind of achievements who didn't get accepted, and they blame the essays. But go for it- Stanford is one of the best schools in the nation.

Thank you... also, do you know if it will be possible to mitigate my sorta low GPA? (low by Stanford's standards that is)

Stanford:

Reach/Slight Reach

I don't think you can mitigate a low GPA, as it's one of the most important factors (and keep in mind this is a school that can fill it's freshman class with 4.0 unweighted students 4 times). Upward trends and midyears matter, however.
