<p>You've definitely got a shot. Your stats are better than mine and I got waitlisted, so... Just spend some time on your essays and you should have as good a shot as anyone does at a place that accepts < 20% a year. :)</p>
<p>Apply, and nail the essays. I've seen way too many people with your kind of achievements who didn't get accepted, and they blame the essays. But go for it- Stanford is one of the best schools in the nation.</p>
<p>I don't think you can mitigate a low GPA, as it's one of the most important factors (and keep in mind this is a school that can fill it's freshman class with 4.0 unweighted students 4 times). Upward trends and midyears matter, however.</p>
