SCEA Yalies might find these articles interesting...

Yale Daily News - EA decision sparks debate

This one is basically speculation about how Harvard and Princeton's elimation of EA/ED will affect Yale.

Yale Daily News - Admit rate rises to 19.7 percent

Admit rates etc...

And last year, Yale's SCEA figures came out on November 17th.

very infomative! let see.

Has anyone found an article to how many SCEA applications Yale has received? That would be very interesting to read about.

Haha that was what I was searching for when I found these.

The article that came out last year informing us of how many SCEA apps they received came out Nov. 17th. I expect it'd probably be around the same time this year? Or maybe even later since they'll probably be swamped with EA apps.

This year's numbers may be later than last year's because California residents impacted by the wildfires got extra time (until November 9, someone reported) to submit their SCEA apps.

Oh right. Yea I saw that on their website.

Also, has anyone been reading the articles about how Yale is considering building two new residential colleges? If the vote goes through and they decide to build them, I wonder if it will affect the number admitted this year. Especially because there are just MORE kids this year (echo-boom generation). Thoughts?

Even if they do decide to build them, they wont be admitting more students until after they are built. So it wont affect our year, nor the next. Probs the grad class of 2018 or something.

This just in... (not that I'm obsessing or anything)

Yale Daily News - Early action applications up 36 percent...

...from 3,541 last year to 4,820 applicants this year. I actually expected more.

.... That's my high school :-)

OMGG thats not that bad.

im actually so incredibly happy.

i thought it'd be something ridiculous like 2930329482039582. well no, more like 6000ish.

MEEEE toooo.... and it makes me feel better that a dean at my school said that about the same number applied as last year. i thought it would be 10x as many.

haha how many usually get accepted out of the 30-40 that apply?

last year we sent... 16? But that was including RD, which yielded a couple more kids

I look at the other kids who are applying to Yale early in my classes.... and cry.

haha no i'm sure you'll be finee.

best of luck to everyone! =)

thank you, you too :-) hope to see you in heaven! aka Yale.. hehe

Wow, I sorta feel better after reading these. But then I think about how I still haven't heard from Yale as to whether they got my app yet :(
