I've had my pre-planned schedule for about a month now, but today I went on the student center and saw that my intro american history sections didn't exist! I called the registrar and they said it was already filled up by current students, which makes no sense to me because its an intro course.

I did everything right by starting early, and now I got screwed over. I've literally been working on it since 10 am and I finally got it to work, though i'm not pleased with the outcome. My other schedule was perfect.

What am I going to do in the gap between classes on tues through thurs? How about with that gap on monday? I figure ill get breakfast but i still have too much time i think.

I was also conflicted because I wasnt sure whether to place out of the intro course or not (im planning on history/govt double major, and i know american history really really well). Here's my schedule w/ the only 200 level hist. course that worked. which one's better?

Having gaps aren’t necessarily a bad thing. Use the time to eat, get a job, or go to the library to do some reading/studying.

The discussion sections aren’t big at all, especially for the history classes, so that’s why it closed. Many current students use the intro history courses to fill graduation requirements. When classes begin, the prof may find he/she needs to open another section and they’ll do that if there are resources. I had that situation occur in many of my classes.

Don’t worry too much because this happens to everyone at one point or another ;)

my only question is whether or not i should take the intro course…if I wasn’t doing a double major I would, but i kind of want to get started with my track.

Were CAS students already allowed to enroll today for courses? What about the other colleges? Will the students from other colleges be already closed out from a lot of choices?
