Schedule help

I posted this over in the HS forum, but I just wanted some other opinions.

So I'm a current sophomore, soon to be junior, and this is my junior year schedule:

AP Eng Lang
AP Calc BC
Hon. Chem
AP Econ
Spanish III
AP Comp Sci
Band

So that's all set in stone.

My question pertains to my senior-year schedule. (Yes, I'm looking ahead a bit...)

2 things:

1) Would colleges rather see me take that 4th year of Spanish (non-AP) or take AP Chem in its place? I would also have honors physics for sure.

2) My school offers Calc III through a local college, but the thing is I'm not sure if I'd want to take it. I would be required to have a study hall (which is hard with doing band), and I hear there's a ridiculous amount of homework. I'm really good at math, but I'm not sure if I'd want all of that work and have to somehow fit a study hall in there. My other option would be AP Stats, and I actually would be interested in taking that course (not just for the AP credit).

So basically, I guess I have 4 options for senior year:

1)
AP Lit
AP Stat
Hon Physics
AP Gov
Spanish IV
Accounting/Public Speaking (each a semester course)
band

2) sub out spanish IV for AP Chem

3) sub out AP Stat for Calc III, and then remove accounting and public speaking (which are both useful courses for LIFE (college is not everything LOL).

4) sub out AP Stat for Calc III, and then remove AP Chem/Spanish IV (then I'd only have 2 AP's senior year/no 4th year of foreign language, but Calc III is a bunch of work).

I'm definitely leaning towards option 1, and maybe option 2. But I'm not sure if I'd want all of the work with taking two hard science classes.

And here's my schedule from this year if it helps at all:

Hon. English 10
Pre-Calc
AP Bio
APUSH
Spanish II
Intro to comp. prog/health (each a semester)
Band

...So I do already have an AP science under my belt (not too interested in going into science though - probably something in math or politcal science).

So let me know what you guys think would be best, thanks!

I’d do both spanish and chem senior year and drop accounting/public speaking. Not taking the calc III isn’t that big of a deal, as long as you take stats in its place. Maybe mention in the additional info on your app why you didn’t take the next math course.

There is no reason for you to take calc III right now. Chances are you’ll have to retake it in college, anyway. Go with the first option.

Keep your schedule the same. I dropped out of my foreign language and looked back at it wishing I had taken Spanish in the first place and had continued it to senior year. I think having AP Calc BC would be better since it will be taught pretty well most likely, especially for a high schooler. Also, you won’t have to retake Calc BC later. You can always take Chem your senior year. No hurry.

^I dropped out of Spanish senior year (it would have been my fourth year, non-AP) and I do not regret it at all. Many colleges do not have a language requirement (unless you want to study abroad). I ended up at one that does, but there is a placement test. Would I have been better off taking spanish senior year in regards to the placement? Probably, but I’m going to make up for it by studying before I take the test, which shouldn’t be too hard. And remember, I’m at one of the few schools that has a language requirement. If I went to any other of the schools I was admitted at I wouldn’t have had to take a language.
