Schedule issues

So this year I had a scheduling issue with trying to fit all my classes in. My ideal schedule would have been
-physics
-calc
-AP English
-AP Chem
-AP Bio
-religion
-gov/Econ

But due to the size of my school, there were only certain times where each class was offered. The only way I could have kept that same schedule was if I switched regular gov to AP gov but the class was full so I had to improvise and come up with a new schedule

-AP Physics
-AP Bio
-AP English
-religion
-gov
-calc

My school made an exception for me with the AP physics, which is a course offered to only juniors (I'm a senior) and there's no chem in there because it clashes with physics. But now they're saying that I can have my origional schedule back with the AP gov as someone dropped out.

I'm hesitant to switch it back for a couple of reasons. AP gov is supposedly a ton of work and it sucks up a lot of time and it's rather difficult. I'm not sure I'll be able to handle AP Gov along with two other AP sciences and English. And secondly, I really wanted to take AP physics, I love physics and I think it will be a nice challenge as well as I want to go into medicine or engineering so that would prepare me for that, I like gov but I don't think I'll be choosing that career of college path. My only concern about this is that I still want to have a challenging schedule and I know having 4 APs is better than 3 but I also don't want to overload myself, especially senior fall. Also, I want to take the classes that I'm interested in but again, how much better would 4 AP look over 3?

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Take AP Physics, don’t take more just to look better. Take AP Physics because of what you want to be when you enter college.

Ditto on the above. Take what interests you and what will prepare you for college and beyond.

FWIW, AP Gov is really a semester equivalent AP class, so you are really talking about 3.5 AP’s vs. 3.

It won’t make a difference. Take AP physics.

@guineagirl96‌ @skieurope‌ @tacoperson123‌ thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you guys think I should take the physics, like I said, that’s what I really wanted to take. So thank you!

Bump

Just some more info…

Because of the size of my school, there is a limited number of AP courses that I am able to take, my school only offers 12 AP courses starting junior year. Additionally, some of the courses are reserved only for seniors giving me only a choice for two during junior year, in which I took one. Other APs include AP Spanish, AP French, AP Calc, and AP Art which either I can not take because of prerequisites (Spanish, I took French, and Art, I’ve never been good at it so I’ve stuck to music classes, and calc because I took precalc over the summer and they won’t let me take AP in the fall) or are not being offered because of lack of interest (French ._. ). Other some of the other APs I cannot take because, once again, the size of my school only allows certain classes certain times of the day, which conflict with my current schedule (chem, stats, and euro). So, I know I only have 6 classes right now, but do you think it would be a waste of time to add another class to my schedule? It would be like some class like sociology, physiology, human relations, etc which are considered incredibly easy courses and I’m not interested in persuing for my major in college or career.

So, considering all of that, do you guys think my schedule is competative enough for top tier schools? And comments on improving or tweaking it?

much appreciation

Bump

Don’t add another class…it could bring down your GPA, even if you made a 100.

That’s what I was thinking since none of the classes available to take are weighted. So, all considering, do you think my schedule is ok right now?

Also, if I’ve taken summer classes for the past two years at a local college, and done really well in both of them, does that hold the same weight as an AP course?

Anyone?
