<p>I'm an incoming freshman who registered for Math 102 and Econ55. On the schedule listed on ACES, there are 3 days a week of hour-long classes (lectures I presume) for each course. Then there are these 1 hr. 15 minute stretches listed outside of the usual lecture schedule for both courses. What's that time for? More lectures? Discussions? Any point to going to them?</p>
<p>Those would be the recitation sections. They are usually TA-led discussion sections. Some classes use them for discussing/doing problem sets, some for homework questions, others for review, etc.</p>
<p>I know for my Econ courses so far, they have not been required. Perhaps you will be as lucky....</p>
