I should clarify what I meant. The guy giving that session on engineering said that it is never recommended that you skip Calc 2 even if you get a5 on the BC test. He said that he strongly discourages anyone that does this. I said that you “can’t” since he went on for like 10 minutes stating that it isn’t recommended.

Well I looked up some old Calc 2 tests from UF online and I can do every single problem on them… The no calculator ever thing they push at UF would never be a problem considering your AP teacher should have taught you without a calculator and you should have done at least 50% of the class with no calculators. Also I took Calculus classes for 1 and a half school years for 90 minutes a day. The equivalent to 3 classes worth at a normal high school.

I’m going to be a Computer Science (Engineering) major, so I only need Chem 1. Here’s hoping I got at least a 4 on that AP exam.

And as for calc, my advisor said that what the engineering advisor said is meant for everybody - not everyone has the same level of competence in calc. I’d say that if u think u can do Calc 3, go for it. You might want to read up on the material before u come to class though.

D had a 5 on calc B/C. She skipped calc I and II. She’s ChemE and had no trouble w/ calc III, but she’s gifted in math.

If you’re gonna do pre-health take the chm2045 class. My brother-in-law says that the med school wants to see the actual grades you get in the class.
