Research Project:
So next year my school will start to participate in this research project on mice to test this anti-aging serum. To participate in the research project, you had to be interviewed and I was one of the ones selected. It takes up a class period but it will count as Honors towards my GPA. If we do find something, then we make it big, our names will get published in a scientific journal and whatnot. If we don't, then well, nothing happens. The thing is I'm afraid that this research project isn't going to look impressive to colleges at all and will only take up a class slot I could have used for an AP class or something. Should I stick with it?

Is my schedule good for Junior/Senior year? I wanted to take AP Chem, AP Bio, and AP Physics before I graduated but I don't know how to spread them out so that I don't kill myself either year or should I just drop one? I was thinking of replacing AP Stats Junior Year and double up with AP Bio and Chem but I don't want to commit suicide considering AP chem is super hard at my school and I don't know who will be teaching Bio. I doubled up on Spanishes sophomore year because you couldn't take AP Spanish Lang. without at least being in Spanish 2, but when I'm done with sophomore year I'll have 3 years of Spanish done too. Should I drop Research? Is it worth it? and if I do drop it, what should I replace it with?

Your projected schedules are totally fine. You do not have to take all AP Classes in existence and just taking a class just because it has the two letters, AP. You need to take classes that you are interested in and/or you have outstanding potential in, that is what high school is. I know you want to impress colleges, but being yourself is way more important than taking all APs, IBs, 50+ ECs that are pointless, and such. Just a reminder before I give you advice - I hope the classes you are going to enroll in are what you want to take, has to do with your future, and most importantly, showing who you are. I’ll answer in order of your questions you asked.

Q1: Well it depends if you want to be or what you want to major in when you grow up. If you’re undecided then I would stick with it I suppose. But if you have a specific projected major(s)/career, there are classes that you will need to drop, I seriously think that there isn’t one major that would reccomend all of those classes you are going to take. (Maybe Engineering…maybe, depends which type is it.) Remember you want rigorous classes, but you want to get grades at the very minimum straight C’s, preferably all B’s and A’s, don’t try to be crazy, just take classes you know you will do good in.
Q2: Yes they definitely are. Junior: 9/10 Senior: 9.5/10
Q3: Harvard recommends all Biology, Chemistry, and Physics and just 1 AP for one of them, and everyone is crazy about Harvard so those are all of the sciences you should take. Just one science AP is fine for an undecided. Drop the courses that you know that will have nothing to do with your future and/or you are not interested in, don’t just do soley for rigor.
Q4: Depends on what you want to be. AP Statistics has to do with a lot of majors, probably more than AP Chemistry (I’m assuming). From your tone I would definitely just deal with AP Biology & AP Statistics and save AP Chemistry for another time. I know how you feel, I really want to take AP Chemistry too, but I have no potential in it from my teacher sadly and I don’t want to pratically self-study the course, plus I chose AP Biology because it has to do with my projected majors AND I LOVE Biology WAY more than Chemistry. (No offense chem fans)
Q5: Just do at least 4 years of foreign language and you’re good to go, don’t put too much stress into it.
Q6: Yes it is worth it because that is like, you’re only break class, jesus. (Well Spanish and maybe Pre Calculus in junior year, but still) Don’t know what Research is, but all I can say is if you like it, continue with it.
