Hi I will be a freshman this year and currently I am taking the following for the fall semester: Biology 121 with Lab, Spanish 101, European Civilizations 107, and a First Year Seminar Class. I am a Spanish major. I do know I need Biology 122 with Lab and Spanish 102 for the spring but should I add my humanities courses like Psychology 101 and Sociology 101 to fulfill medical school behavioral and social science requirements. I also have problems in mathematics and was wondering should I consider taking Pre-calculus in the summer before I start Chemistry in my sophomore year or should I take it instead of one of the behavioral sciences for now and take a behavioral science in the summer.

Given that you failed Algebra 2 at least once, I strongly suggest you take college trig (if it’s available at Cedar Crest College) before you attempt pre calc. If college trig isn’t available, take pre-calc in the spring just in case you need more than one try to master the material.

Do you know if your college requires incoming freshmen to take math and/or English placement exams?

Math will be your rate determining step w/r/t to being on track to apply to med schools. As far as current plan goes, you will already need to apply after graduation and take a glide year.

they offer pre-calculus as the option, they do not offer trig.

Take pre-calc in the spring.

Summer math classes are compressed and intensive, covering a great deal of complex material quickly–which may not be the best pedagogical approach for someone who has difficulty with math.
