In the event your D/S did not get the classes or schedule they wanted, any suggestion on who (parent or new student) and how to approach the registrar? We are new to the school and to BS.

My experience, my son e-mailed his academic adviser first, adviser suggested him to contact the math department head. We gave him all the information he need, finally, son moved from regular class to advance honor.

A good start is going to your adviser to see who to talk to and what the procedure is to change classes. Keep in mind that class changes take time. Be persistent but patient since the department heads and registrar are dealing with tons of class switches. I’ve switched lots of classes and everyone is understanding and tries to find the best solution. It’s also important to acknowledge that not all changes are possible. Courses fill up or two favorites overlap and settling for second might be the best thing that happens to you. Some of my favorite classes were my second or even third choices.
