The HSS requirement is broken up into 4 parts: 36 units of hums, 36 units of SS, 36 of any HSS. Music classes count only towards the last category.

Here's a link to an awesome schedule maker designed by an Averite. Unfortunately, it requires stuff from REGIS pasted into it to work.
http://www.ugcs.caltech.edu/~victorl/services/sched.html

The end result looks like the one in http://www.ugcs.caltech.edu/~victorl/

Alternatively, I suggest doing it manually in... Kontact.

Victor wasn't really an Averite.

My bad. I just assumed that since he lived in Avery...

Yea... his house affiliation is actually Page, although I don't think he really associates himself with said house.

Do you have to know the section in which you're to be enrolled in to do this schedule maker thing?

Well, you have to have REGIS data which will presumably have your section on it...

okay this is kinda freaking me out...have incoming frosh gotten their REGIS information yet? why do I not recall anything of the like...I just sent in the yellow requirement selection card a few days ago. Did I miss sth important?

If you have your email address REGIS might be up for you. same username and password.

My class did not get email / REGIS info until we got to Caltech, so relax.

I think Tom's right here, ITS doesn't want to give you the passwords (that they randomly generate ) until you're here.

I do have a suggestion though: Use the sample provided on that page.

Victor wasn't really an Averite.

Er, Tom? What are you talking about? Victor was an Avery member - and so is everyone who lives in Avery. Anyway, I fail to see the relevance of that comment...

Relevance to what? It was a one line post.

As for your idea that everyone who lives in Avery is an Avery member--I have no idea what your rules are. I personally distinguish between people who live in Avery as an off-campus housing choice and people who live in Avery to join the "house". As I recall, Victor wasn't too enthusiastic about living in Avery.

In any case, Victor was identified as "an Averite". Even if you want to argue that Victor was an Averite on the sole basis of living in Avery for one out of his four years at Tech, even though he was minimally involved with the house itself, there are many things Victor is and was before an Averite. He was a Pageboy before he was an Averite. He was a EE before he was a Pageboy. And he was a really awesome individual before he was anything else.

That being said, I didn't really think it was a big deal. No need for you to be offended.

Not offended, just wanted to correct a mistaken statement. We make no such distinctions in membership. I mean, 2 Avery excom members came to Avery as an off-campus housing choice, including our Chancellor. So this...

My bad. I just assumed that since he lived in Avery...
[/quote]

...is a completely valid assumption.

And Victor did, by the way, live in Avery last year as well. Anyway....doesn't matter.

We make no such distinctions in membership.

Yes, but some students who live in Avery do make the distinction as they do not want to label themselves as an Averite.
