Scheduling on campus auditions

S did all (8) auditions on-campus last year. All schools were within an 8 hr drive, except Elon which was 10hrs. We would have shuffled things a bit and would have done 2-3 at Unified’s, but a couple of pre-screen no’s changed our plans. We live in the Midwest, and S didn’t want any east coast schools, so we were able to make on-campus work. I think he missed seeing some friends at Unifieds, but the value of seeing some of the campuses was awesome… plus, I loved the mom/son bonding afforded by road tripping together.

@Tahuna Were most of the colleges in attendance in LA? How do we figure that part out?

@MTheaterMom You can get a lot of information from www.unifiedauditions.com. But there are also some schools that aren’t officially part of the Unifieds, but they are at the same place at the same time. Generally each school will have a list of where their auditions take place. It will usually be some combination of on campus, a few regional locations nearby, and the four Unified locations.

Because we live in California there are very few auditions that are a road trip away. For every audition we needed airfare for 2 and a hotel room. At over $1,000 per trip we just couldn’t travel to 15 different schools, so the Unifieds were great for us.
