Schoarships?

Just out of interest, has ANYONE gotten a scholarship to a/some school(s)? I was also wondering how they were offered.

Technically I have, but not to a specific school. It was more of a... Apply to schools, see which one you get into, then we'll pay for day and textbooks. No matter what.

WHOOOOOOOOA.
luckyyyy. sounds amazing.

Yes. Full for 4 years if my grades are good

((Thank you!

Biggestfoot, congratz!))

Are we talking merit scholarships or grants?

I just got a full scholarship to Western Reserve Academy!!!!

Are any of the scholarships based upon athletic recruits or musical ability, instead of simply NEED based? What is the formula for the SSS - how much income for how much aid?!??!?!!?!? HELP! We need the FA for my daughter to attend BS!!! It's her dream!!

springisintheair: My scholarship to WRA was a merit scholarship... But i think the only other school that gives scholarships is Episcopal High in DC.

springisintheair: here is the link for the SSS: https://sss.ets.org/pfsHome.do

Their service provides you with an estimated family contribution...EFC. Some schools will provide enough FA so that will be all you will have to pay. Some will provide you with more FA, so you wll have to pay less....there are no publicly available formulas to determine how much FA you can get. It will vary by school, student, year, etc..

But, the web site will have a lot of useful information that can get you started. If you fill out the form on line, I think that they will get you your calculations for EFC in just over a week. Good luck!
