Scholars Program: Advantages and Disadvantages

Can any1 who knows any please post some here? The deadline for accepting the program is soon and I am not sure what to do.

That's really subjective, giantfan.
What are you looking for in a living-learning program? If you post a little bit about what your idea of a good or bad program would be, it will be easier for people to say "Yes, Scholars has that" or "No, you won't find that there".

Have you read through this thread a few pages back? "College Park Scholars"

well I did read through that thread, but all I really know is that all the people in your particular program live together, and that you take a 1 credit class (which im not sure what it entails)

Are there any other things I should know about it, and is there any reason to not accept?

Oh and also, when you graduate will it have some sort of citation and if so how much does that citation matter?

I suggest you go to the U. of Maryland College Park web site which explains what the scholars program is all about. I suggest you visit on one of the upcoming visitors days if that is possible. Also, you need to look at what you want to study and compare with your other college options. It is hard to give specific answers to your questions because there is more to Maryland than just "scholars". However, it is an honor to get the "scholars" program.

The latest Scholars newsletter just came out today. Take a look: http://www.scholars.umd.edu/parents/archives/Volume27.pdf
