I am applying RD and am trying to show interest by applying for scholarships. However, I don’t think I have a realistic chance of actually getting any of the scholarships. My question is:
Is the admissions office able to view the contents of my scholarship application (my essays, work samples) or will they just see that I applied for scholarships?
They will view your scholarships, from my understanding. They look at it all–they want to see that you are showing effort. It doesn’t matter if you won’t get the scholarships, they like to see that you even tried, because there’s a big difference between a candidate with perfect stats who didn’t take the time to do scholarships and one with a 3.5 GPA who applied for 5 different ones that they were eligible for. It shows them that you take them seriously.
