Scholarship chances (ESF, Stony Brook)

I am wondering what my chances of a scholarship are at these schools. I'm a transfer. I actually have a BA in Criminal Justice & have been taking math and science courses at a really excellent cc so I can hopefully finish a BS in three years or less. I'm mainly looking at ESF because I love their hands-on opportunities and focus, but Stony Brook looks like an excellent school. I plan to visit both soon.

High school stats, which I don't think they ask for:
GPA: 3.9
ACT composite: 30

Previous degree GPA: 3.8 (it will be 3.9 if they calculate it themselves, since the granting institution doesn't award letter grades for transfer credit)

CC courses since then GPA: 4.0

I have no research experience yet. I plan to find a related volunteer opportunity ASAP. I am in my community college's Honors program and I also plan to join Phi Theta Kappa, which I know provides a scholarship at ESF. I am a resident of Ohio. I plan to major in Conservation Biology or Wildlife Science. I plan to apply for Fall 2015 if I can get my ducks in a row.

Thank you!
