I just got an e-mail inviting me to this, and I NEED to know... does this mean that I'm accepted(to the Honors Program as Well?)?!

I just want to be positive before flipping out completely.

I just want to be positive before flipping out completely.

No, Honors Program is separate. Scholarship Day is better in my opinion :)

Okay!
But is it like admission to the University in general… because I still can’t view my decision online yet…

Last year, they sent an invitation to Honors by email in early February.

Yes, if you are invited to scholarship day, you are accepted, and you are one of the top students.

I’m not talking about honors, lol!
I wasn’t sure if Scholarship Day was an admission to UNC-CH in general(I didn’t expect to hear anything so soon, I’m OOS)!
But I’m pretty sure it is, so I’m ecstatic right now!

Congratulations! I remember this time last year…the wait to actually move in and get to college was SOOO long but Chapel Hill is such an amazing place to be!

If you are invited to scholarship day, you are accepted. It also means that you are a candidate for an academic scholarship. You need to find away to make sure you attend scholarship day, it can mean significant merit money. Congratulations!

any sort of stats @mollybloom ? just at some point no rush. bask in the glory of your victory first of course.

i got an invitation tooo! curiosity molly are you in or out of state? & are you bringing a parent…?

I am OOS!
And I couldn’t try to keep my mom away, we RSVPed last night and she was like, “YOU HAVE ONE GUEST! DON’T FORGET MEEEE!”

Quick stats:

SAT:2250 (one sitting)
SATII:
Lit: 790
US History: 710
GPA ~ 4.3ish?
I liked my essays.
look back through my posts, the rest of my stats are in chance threads from the beginning of the year.

does this mean that all scholarship day invites have been sent out? :/

For anybody who reads this who hasn’t gotten invited to scholarship day, don’t lose all hope! UNC has some smaller scholarships that they give to some of the top IS students (trying to keep them in state and all). It’s 10,000 total, so 2,500 a year. I know someone (IS) who went to scholarship day and complained (?!) that she got the smallest amount in scholarships that they offered, which was 2,500 a year. When you’re only paying 15-17k a year, that is actually significant.

Just wanted to let the IS kids/parents know that you’re not totally out of the running if you don’t get invited to scholarship day!

Is “Scholarship Day” on the subject line in your invitation email?

Congratulations MollyBloom! Since you’re out-of-state, your invitation to Scholarship Day means you have a great chance to win a full ride scholarship to one of the best schools in the country! It can be a stressful time, but try to make the most out of the experience and take full advantage of the opportunity. Also, all prospective students invited to Scholarship Day are also invited to Honors Carolina.

The subject line is: “You are Invited to Carolina’s Scholarship Day”

and thanks SO much, GoHeelsGoAmerica, I’m SO excited! I was on cloud nine all day! Since money is an issue with my family, we were so excited for the possibility of scholarship for my Undergrad years. So we are rejoicing!

Wait, does this mean I’m also in the Honors Program as well?!

Yep, your invitation to Scholarship Day means you’re also in the honors program.

MollyBloom;

Congratulations to you!

What is the date for scholarship day?

So, do we think that all the invitations for Scholarship Day for EA students have been sent out?

The date is February the 10th!
