Being that applicants who want to be considered for scholarships have to apply by December 1, does this mean that they will also get their decisions earlier than other applicants or will all applicants, regardless of application deadline receive their decisions on March 26? Thanks!

In the past, USC has sent acceptances with scholarship interview (for T/P/M/S scholarships) invites in late January/early February to the select couple hundred students. Around this time, some additional applicants who are awarded Dean’s scholarships also received acceptances. Everyone else who submitted by Dec. 1 waited until late March for their decision. Some people got letters in Feb. saying they were not offered an interview invite, and some never got this letter.

Most people who submitted by Dec. 1 will not get decisions until the regular time in late March (if things go like they have in the past).

Agree with camomof3 - if not selected for interviews for top scholarships (or to receive Dean’s), applicants will hear by the end of March.

I just wanted to chime in because I noted that babyonemoretime listed March 26th as the notification date, and in past years it was always listed as April 1st. In checking the USC admissions website, babyonemoretime is absolutely correct - decisions will be mailed on March 26th. The BIG news I noted on that page is that, for the first time, USC will be providing online notifications on March 29th at noon (Pacific Time).

This was a standard complaint in the past - that due to differences in mail delivery times in various parts of the country/world, some applicants were left wondering about their status for as much as a week or more after most had received their decisions. Many posted on this forum that they would appreciate online notification - another bit of evidence that USC is listening to their applicants’ concerns (and possibly even peeking at College Confidential on occasion ).

Good luck to all USC applicants!
