My D was invited to apply for a full tuition /room/board scholarship a week after she submitted her EA application. Her stats probably put her in top 5% of applicant pool based on CDS. Much of her CA main essay, as well as several short answer questions, were on the same topics as the new scholarship essay prompt. Can she fuse or recycle components of her previously submitted essays? Does a scholarship committee usually see an applicant’s main and supplement essay/short answer questions? Thank you!
Congrats, @PepperJo! It’s hard to say; some scholarships are completely separate from admissions and some are not. The scholarship website may have an FAQ section that addresses reusing an essay. If yours doesn’t, I would rewrite the essay.
If you want to name the school/scholarship, somebody may be able to give you specific advice.
Good luck!
Thank you. It’s the Sullivan Leadership Scholarship at Seattle University. She just uploaded her essay, so it’s a done deal now, She was able to reconfigure her UC essay, so at least it will new to Seattle!
Congratulations…!!! and All the best.
