I don't have a solid high school report and I don't think I will be able to get any merit based scholarships. I have the necessary funds to pay my USC tuition but my family will have to tighten its belt a lot. So I was wondering wheter is it possible to get a scholarship in the second year of study after performing great maybe above 3.8 or 3.9/4.0 in the freshman year. I'm not excpecting a 100% scholarship but is it possible to get something?

You can get additional money from your department for outstanding grades, if you department has those sorts of awards to give out. Also, if your family’s financial situation changes, be sure to notify the financial aid department and they can recalculate your aid package.

93,
There are hundreds of scholarships at SC for continuing students. Check out your school for information regarding these. Some are for merit and others may be a combination of merit/need or leadership awards.

On this forum look for the long thread regarding scholarships for continuting students. It is dated 5/31/2010 by Georgia Girl.

I forgot to mention that I am planning to study Engineering in USC. Georgia Girl I think the thread you mentioned was this:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/937173-scholarships-continuing-students.html?highlight=scholarships+continuting+students
But this thread does not include any scholarships given to Engineering students.
Can anybody elaborate more on scholarships for continuing engineering students?

canroz,
For some reason Viterbi did not list theirs on the Viterbi site. It is stated there are engineering scholarships for continuing students. I would suggest you call Viterbi and ask or e-mail with a request for a list of the scholarships.
