continuing student scholarship...

hi guys! I am a entering freshman for Marshall Business School, and unfortunately, I didn't apply for any scholarships this year(b/c I handed in the application after December)...I am just wondering, is it possible to apply for full scholarship or any financial assistance for the sophomore year? Sadly, I am an international student, so I basically can't get any financial aid.

My stats are 2150 SAT
SAT II Physics 750, Math 790.
Unweighted GPA 4.0.
Rank in class 2/263.

Is there still hope for me?

The USC Financial Aid website should help you out. They do have continuing undergraduate merit-based scholarships. I think a lot of the deadlines for those already passed by (early-mid December 2006), but you can always wait a year later and try applying again.

I'm not too sure about full scholarships being offered as a continuing undergraduate student (as opposed to entering), but I'm sure there is some financial assistance out there in the form of grants, scholarships, or loans (depending on the need). For example, some USC organizations/associations that offer scholarships are Town and Gown, Asian Pacific Alumni Association, Mexican American Alumni Association, Black Alumni Association and so forth.

If you have trouble getting any information yourself, don't hesitate to call them (213-740-1111) from 9AM to 5PM (Pacific Standard Time) or visit the Financial Aid Office anytime from 9AM to 5 PM once you get on campus (it's at the John Hubbard Hall lobby). The people there are pretty nice, especially a guy named Robert. You can also e-mail the Financial Aid Office through an online form at: <a href="https://caravan.esd.usc.edu/Contactus/default.asp?aid=3%5B/url%5D">https://caravan.esd.usc.edu/Contactus/default.asp?aid=3</a></p>

Also, people can always apply for financial aid every year by submitting a CSS profile, a FAFSA as a continuing undergraduate student, and some other supplemental financial aid forms. My guess is that most of this financial assistance would come in the form of loans, but again, I'd talk directly with a financial aid officer/worker to explore your options. There is hope... you just have to pursue it! Good luck on finding financial aid!

I don't think late applicants can receive full scholarship as sophomores. International students do not get any form of need-based aids... which sux
