Scholarship school and no scholarship school

My son got in Georgia tech but no scholarship,
Clemson offered a full scholarship covers the tuition and partial expenses.
But GT ranks high on Engineering.
I don’t know which one I should choose.

Are you the student or the parent doing the choosing? The student is going to college…let the student choose (unless finances are a huge obstacle…but then this kid has Clemson with decent aid).

Clemson has an excellent engineering program…and its ABET accredited.

I’m not sure why this is a real question. Presumably your son applied to Clemson for a good reason. And he is fortunate to have gotten a very fine financial award there.

We know a bunch of very happy Clemson engineering students.

Do you think the “ranking” differential for the engineering program really is worth paying the full cost of attendance? Can you do this without taking any parent or student loans?

My opinion…go Clemson!

Are you in-state for GT? What are the net costs of each?

Agree that Clemson does have very good engineering, as well as more school spirit than GT!

Take the scholarship and go to Clemson. GT can wait for grad school.

A bit unclear as to what the comparative costs are to you. A “full scholarship”? Covers tuition and what other expenses? Can you afford the cost of Tech? Are you in state or OOS for either school?
