scholarship stacking...

is there a limit to how much will USC pay you if you recieve more scholarships than the cost of tuition/room/board/books? also will USC give financial aid to students that have a full-ride from merit scholarships?

thanks

I am not sure of how USC does it, but if you qualify for need based money at my daughter's college you have that subtracted from the "full ride". For example, her friend qualified for over federal grants, but also offered a full ride. They applied the "free money" first and then made up the difference for the full ride.
A friend of ours has a daughter who was awarded the McNair - she was also National Merit, so she got the overage.
I guess it depends of the type of aid and / or the school.

S just returned from the McNair Scholars weekend. He will be eligible for whatever he receives from that award PLUS his scholarship from being a National Merit Finalist so the answer is YES USC lets the student stack scholarships.
As far as eligibility for need based aid after the scholarships, they would have to have need left in their aid budget.Be aware that USC reduces tution to in state levels for any scholarship recipient. This is a very valuable perk as the S Carolina in state tuition rate is quite low.
