Scholarship

hello everyone,

I am applying to Boston University soon and should be accepted without a problem.

I want to go to BU over a local much less expensive school, but BU is ridiculously expensive. How do I get merit based scholarships from them? Will i be considered for this automatically? do i need to call their admissions after i get in and negotiate a deal?

Scholarships & Merit Awards | Boston University Admissions

That should have the information you're looking for.

I think to be eligible for merit scholarships, you had to apply by the 12/1 deadline. You will want to double check that though. I was trying to find the place on their website that had that information, but it seems they have changed their website recently and now I can't find it.

I believe that the Dec 1 deadline applies only to some of the full-tuition scholarships, including the Trustee Scholarship, Dr MLK Jr Scholarship and Alex Graham Bell Scholarship.

You would still be eligible for other merit-based awards such as those listed on Other Scholarships | Boston University Admissions.
You'll probably have to look at each of those individual scholarships to see if you need any other supporting materials (such as essays) or if you'll be considered automatically when admitted.
