Are there any scholarships available to students at grinnell

Yes! Grinnell has very good merit aid. You should check out their admissions page. Look up the financial aid section. Grinnell is one of the only LAC’s of its caliber to even give merit aid and it’s very good merit aid to boot.

But what of aid after the first year?

If I have not got any aid during my admission offer,
is it still possible to get merit aid in the years to follow?

I would call the financial aid office and ask them that question. That is a great question. The financial aid office is very friendly and can tell you how that works at their school. Also, financial aid is determined every year. Each year you have to reapply. i/e if you have a sibling that enters college next year and you did not get any FA this year, you may next year.

The Trustee Honor Scholarship is renewable for 3 years with only the only catch being maintaining a 2.75 GPA. Of course that would be if you receive it upon admission… my hunch is that you can’t get merit aid in your returning years but I definitely don’t know that for a fact.

I concur about the FA office! I have had to call them a couple of times and they have always been very friendly and polite.

Oh also their National Merit scholarship is renewable for 3 years too, if that applies to you.

Grinnell’s professors, admissions and aid offices have been among the most responsive I have contacted. Son is third college bound student, he “narrowed” his list down to 10 colleges. I believe I am an expert at this point.
