Scholarships and chances?

Hi! I really hope to go to pepperdine, but I was wondering what my chances of receiving a scholarship is. Also, if any of you know of any other scholarships I could apply for, that would be great! Also, would the first semester grades factor into scholarship decisions? Thanks

Getting in will not be a problem as people with low GPA’s get in. I see you getting lots of financial aid though with that good GPA. I believe that they sent out some acceptance letters already though.

Its strange how difficult it is to nail down actual scholarship info, e.g., how many full tuition and/or full ride merit scholarships per year are typically given out at Pepperdine. I called them directly and couldn’t get a straight answer. Many if not most other schools either release this, or at least announce the winners which you can easily count. Kind of frustrating. My S is in about the same boat as the OP, w/ a higher sat, identical GPA, good extras, and I cannot tell what % he’d have to be in to qualify for a likely full scholarship.

any help is much appreciated as this is pretty intriguing interesting school.

I know 107 freshmen and 497 undergrads received SOME merit aid.

I know from their CDS that the maximum full rides they could theoretically offer is 152.

So they are diluting their total scholarship budget down to about 30% of a full ride on average by reaching more people. This assumes, of course, that all students get the same size merit scholarship, which is, of course, not true.

The key is how many full tuition and/or full rides they give to merit students.

Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated. We are one of the many lower middle income families who are too rich for financial aid, but too strapped to be able to pay for the equivalent of a new car 4 or 5 years in a row. We gross about $100k for family of 4.

I know that Pepperdine gives scholarships to the top 10% of their students. There are two or three types of scholarships ranging from 24k a year to 28k a year. I am also really hoping for a scholarship! ,y gpa is about the same and a 2100 SAT
