<p>Ben Kaplan has a book called the Scholarship Scouting Report. It and other books by Kaplan list lots of scholarships that can be applied for by younger kids. You can also check out the scholarship web sites like Fast web. As an aside, for the most part, applying for the tiny ($500 to $1000) scholarships is tedious and they are not easy to win. </p>

<p>IMO, your time is better spent looking at colleges that offer merit money.</p>
