Scholarships Still Open for High School Juniors

Like the title said, do you know of any scholarships that are open? Thanks so much.

I really need some hope after being rejected from the Nordstrom scholarship..

For high school JUNIORS? Really, there are many more open for HS seniors! Start looking for those.

@thumper1‌ Well, I’m currently a high school junior so scholarships for seniors won’t help me.

Your junior year is ending very soon, right? Are you looking for college scholarships? If so, start looking for things open to seniors. There are FAR more college scholarships for seniors to apply to than for juniors.

@thumper1‌ If scholarships’ deadlines are in the summer for seniors, am I considered a senior?

You need to check the provisions for each scholarship. Like I said, there are MANY more scholarships open to senior applicants than for juniors. Time to look for those.

In addition, the national scholarships are extremely competitive. You also need to look for colleges which award scholarships based on your stats…your SAT or ACT score, and your GPA. Some of the best scholarship awards are from the colleges themselves for admitted students.

There is a thread with a stickie at the top of this forum called automatic full tuition/full ride scholarships. Look there to see if your stats put you in the running for these awards.

There are competitive awards given by many college which involve a separate application and sometimes interview process. Look for those as well.

In many cases, for the scholarships awarded by the colleges, you admissions application must be submitted by an early date…December 1 at the latest (check each school for its deadlines). Some of the awards with separate applications also have very complex applications, with multiple essays. It would be good to get started on those NOW so that you can refine those essay prior to your submission.
