According to the FAFSA, my EFC is 1500(not exactly but lets pretend that its 1500 flat for now).

That sounds manageable, but I wonder if I will need to apply for scholarships. I doubt I'd qualify for or obtain any merit based scholarships.

Of course, my parents will pay absolutely nothing towards my tuition and boarding. I'll probably have to get a summer job or a part time job in college (in addition to work-study?!?!) to accumulate the 1500 myself.

I am worried that colleges that use the CSS profile will somehow gauge my EFC to be a lot higher than what it says on my FAFSA.

Like I said, no matter what amount the FAFSA reports, my parents will pay NONE of it. Just because they're ******** liked that.

Should I wait to receive my financial aid package in early April before deciding to apply for scholarships or is now the time?
