I recently received my acceptance letter and several others. My other letters have stated how much scholarship money I will be receiving, but nobody I know has had an acceptance letter from high point that said anything about scholarship money, how do their scholarships work?

Congratulations on being accepted! My son is there and has had a wonderful experience. High Point is a little different in that you need to complete an application for the Presidential Scholarship Program. My son received a scholarship from them through that program. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT - the application is due DECEMBER 20th. It is online and very self explanatory. There is an interview processed involved in February, and the scholarship weekend is worth attending even if you don’t receive a scholarship. It is invitation only, and many students don’t realize the application is due in December so your chances are good.

I think its important that, as mentioned above, people understand just how important the Presidential Scholarship weekend experience actually is. It is true that the application was due and is always due in December, usually around the 20th, but once all of that is out of the way, the experience is incredible. It’s like a five star young professionals retreat. However, the Presidential Scholarship Program is the only way to receive any SCHOLARSHIP money from HPU. That does not include grants and/or financial aid.

Good luck to all of the Presidential Scholarship candidates this weekend! It is a fun time, relax and be yourself!

I wish all potential Presidential Scholars the best of luck this weekend, as well. It isn’t anything to stress about, be calm, be confident and be yourself, you’re there for a reason.
