scholarships

paying for Stanford won't be easy... so now I'm looking for scholarships/grants and such.

does anyone know where I should look/apply for scholarships that would give me money to pay for Stanford?

Are you talking about money from Stanford or from elsewhere? Stanford will supposedly only give you money for financial need and athletic ability. But are you just asking for scholarships and grants from other parties to anywhere?

Anything will help - other parties to anywhere or from Stanford. We are getting some financial aid from Stanford, but more would certainly help so that's why i'm looking for scholarships.

I was completely unaware that most of the deadlines have passed for scholarships, though. Are there any places at all that have deadlines still coming up?

Collegeboard.com has a scholarship search tool, with tons of scholarships. And I think it might have an option for only displaying those with deadlines that have not passed.

i've heard that if you get any merit-based scholarship from outside, Stanford will deduct it from you financial aide package. Is that true? If it is, what part of fin aid is reduced? loans? work-study? grants?

I don't think it is true for merit-based scholarships, but it could be true for need-based scholarships.
