Scholarships

If i get a scholarship that pays for room and board, do i need to live on campus all 4 years in order for it to be paid for?

I would ask the office of scholarships. What scholarship is it?

I believe you don’t, if it is an IU scholarship. Our IU student has a bunch of IU scholarships that cover tuition and about half of room and board and we were told it’s deposited into your bank account. Then you need to keep records to make sure it’s not taxable income. If it is an external scholarship, you may want to check with them. If you live in the dorms or campus apartments they take the money from there and bill you as usual for the balance.

Some scholarships may be restricted to tuition, but certainly not all. It may be used for living expenses and fees.
