D got a letter today saying she'd been awarded a $15,000 President's scholarship. It says the award does not exclude the possibility that she could receive something from another Muhlenberg "honors program" (she hasn't yet heard from Dana Scholars). However I'm wondering if this means she did not qualify for an audition-based talent award. (She auditioned for musical theater.) Anyone know? I hate the way Muhlenberg's info comes in dribs and drabs (even though they've been very nice dribs and drabs so far). Looks like the Dana Scholars and financial aid determinations will come in two more letters.

MommaJ, my D got the President’s too, and is still waiting for Dana. I, too, do not like the dribs and drabs. The fin aid awards will be a big determining factor in where she ends up going, and i hate to wait for the middle of April to find out about this.

The letters are sent from each department’s office, which is why they do not all come together.

My daughter received three awards, and they all came in separate envelopes, spaced apart in time. From what I remember, at some point, we got a ‘form’ of some kind, listing all the awards, then she was asked to fill it out and indicate whether or not she would be ‘accepting’ these scholarships. I assume they do this because not all kids will decide to enter an honors program (I know, ridiculous, given the amount of money it involves).

D got 2 envelopes from Muhlenberg just now, and i actually read through one of the envelopes (bad mother that I am)…it seems that she has been offered the Dana scholarship!

No idea what the second one contains…

I’m very happy/ relieved- I received a $13, 500 Presidential award two days ago and was accepted into the RJ Fellows Program today, after applying for the Dana (if anyone knows anything about RJ other than what is on the website… I’d be very grateful :))

“I’m very happy/ relieved”

I was basically about to write that exact line so I figured I’d just quote you! Yesterday, I got the $15,000 presidential award and today I found out I was admitted to Dana! Congrats to everyone who got merit money and good luck to those still waiting to hear!

Congratulations to you all! You are part of a very select group.

I know, Liz44, it was a pretty good day today Personally, I like coming home everyday and finding some new envelope from the 'Berg!

I was confused though, when I received the letter for the RJ Fellows program- I was invited to apply for Dana, and assumed that you either got into that program or none of them. But then, I read in the accompanying brochure that the RJ program is for people with “exceptional intellectual and personal curiosity about change in the world” and I had to laugh a little, since my Dana essay was about how I’m going to change the world And I guess that’s why they selected me for RJ instead. It’s all good!

Mmm you guys are lucky. I guess they didn’t like me too much at the Dana program (waitlisted). Haven’t heard anything else money-wise.
