<p>I attend a very competitve magnet school, and at the end of the year the teachers hand out awards to one or two of the best students in their entire class. I have received 7 of these. However, I know that these are only school-based, so I wanted to know how effective these were in college admissions?</p>
<p>They do not show anything that your transcript already doesn’t say. Congratulations and you should be rightly proud but no one is going to say WOW – because your transcript (and hopefully your rec letters) already have stated as such.</p>
