Title says it all, question mark included. Basically we had a our counselors come into our study hall one day and give us an access code so we could register and take one quiz. Then the counselors left. No explanation on what we registered for. A few days later I went back to my college board account and it seems that I have access to the complete online course.

I'm elated that I have access to a $60 course for free, but I'm peeved that there was no further instruction from the counselors. I actually had a friend buy the $60 course recently, only to realize that she wasted her money because she already had it.

Has this happened to anyone else at other schools? It doesn't necessarily have to be about the online course, but for anything that the schools don't emphasize when they should. Counselors at my school will sometimes announce scholarship opportunities over the morning announcements once, and then never mention it again. They also talk about NMSQT, but they never mention what range of scores you have to get. I would say 90% of the kids in my class don't know what subject tests are, and about 40% don't know that you have to register for the SAT.
