Hey guys, I'm new around here,

Anyway, I live in New York, and I currently go to one of the "elite" schools in the area, so to speak. In the school I go to, it goes from 7th grade all the way to senior year, and 8th grade to junior year goes on your transcript. I'm a sophomore this year, and overall my high school average over the last two years is around A- to B+ range. Now my parents have started to doubt that my grades are good enough for college, and even though I'm extremely certain that this will be a pretty good year (I'm working on getting A's in all my subjects), my parents also doubt that the faculty/staff is good enough (white teachers that put unnecessary pressure on you, that don't care about pure effort, and that also hate Asian kids - I'm Asian). Because of this, they want me to switch to a local school (I have an hour commute to get to school), and I'm reluctant to switch because I've just switched so many schools already in the past, and I've already lost so many friends it's tearing me apart. In short, do Ivy League colleges take note of improvement trends (i.e. is it still possible to get into schools like Harvard and MIT with an extremely good improvement? - excluding the extracurriculars) Should I switch because I might not get good college recommendations? Are grades really that important if my social life is sacrificed? Is college really that important if in the end, all that matters is a good-paying job? I need advice on whether or not I should stay or go to the local school mentioned.

Thanks in advance everyone
