I’m a freshman currently taking Spanish 3. Next year, I’ll take Spanish 4 but that’s as far as i can go because my school doesn’t offer AP Spanish Lang/Lit. What are some ways that I can continue to learn Spanish, to the point of speaking it fluently?
Can you do a dual- enrollment class with a community college?
Can you volunteer with ESL learners? Maybe meet with people and spend half time helping them with English & halftime in Spanish.
@Emsmom1 In my county, we can’t take Dual Enrollment until junior year and we have to pass the Accuplacer. But in the future, I will definitely look into that. Thank you
@intparent That’s a great idea, thank you
Well, with the internet, you have endless resources to practice your Spanish. You can listen to online radio, watch Spanish language TV news and novellas, read news in Spanish from around the world, etc. All of these things will help you build up your listening comprehension and your vocabulary, so you can be better prepared to converse in Spanish when you have the opportunity. If you check out euronews (euronews.com), you can read the same news in both English and Spanish, so you don’t have to look up every word in a dictionary.
@mommyrocks Thank you for the resources, I really appreciate it.
